Animals Without Limits is an international, non-profit foundation
dedicated to assisting animals and children in crisis situations.
It is 100% volunteer operated by a pool of dedicated, caring people around the world.

Originally formed in 1999 to help animals in war-ravaged areas, Animals Without Limits has broadened its perspective beyond war and animals to include both animals and children, who are dealing with the effects of disease, abandonment and chronic crisis. Of particular interest is the relationship between children and animals and how together they can overcome the effects of the crisis in their lives.

Mia Mattsson-Mercer

Noted animal psychiatrist, author and lecturer Mia Mattsson-Mercer created the foundation in 1999, after attending a conference on the subject in Sophia, Bulgaria. Since then, she and the foundation have worked in the Balkans, Europe, Middle East and the USA in situations of hardship and suffering for animals. Mia Mattsson Mercer

Currently, all resources are focused on the Naples, Italy area. Current projects are:

• Subsidize spay & neuter, and vaccination programs
• Assist adoption organizations with medical bills, finding foster homes
• Rescue and assistance of sick and dying strays
• Dog & Cat food donations to shelters
• Education programs for children and adults (focusing on issues surrounding the animals)

It is sadly true that we can’t save or help them all. But it is just as true that we can and must save and help those we can, here and now. That is what we are doing in Naples. It may not be a war zone, but there are animals that are in need of help, rescue or euthanasia. There are animals that are suffering because of trauma, chaos and an often less-than-friendly environment brought about by the society they find themselves in... much like in a war zone.

Animals Without Limits will continue to work to address the problems of animals in need in a number of environments. They may not all be war zones, but to the animals (and children) caught in them, they are no less dire or dangerous.
